Shawn Elliott + Georgia State

South Carolina offensive line coach Shawn Elliott is close to being hired for the head coaching vacancy at Georgia State University, according to multiple sources and reports.

As we reported back on Nov. 14th, Elliott was expected to be the frontrunner for the vacant position based on Elliott’s longtime friendship with Georgia State athletics director Charlie Cobb.

Cobb fired football coach Trent Miles after a 37-23 loss to Louisiana-Monroe at the Georgia Dome.

Miles was 2-8 this season and 9-38 overall at Georgia State.

Several sources have reported the deal could be finalized at anytime.
